Program Overview

The Bachelor of Education (Elementary) is a professional four-year undergraduate degree designed to prepare competent, reflective, and innovative teachers for elementary classrooms. The programme combines academic coursework with extensive teaching practice and modern pedagogical training

Programme Outcomes

By graduation, the B.Ed. (Elementary) graduates will be able to:

• Demonstrate strong pedagogical content knowledge and the ability to design, deliver, and assess learner-centred instruction at the Elementary level.
• Critically reflect on their teaching practice, use classroom evidence to improve instruction, and engage in continuous professional learning and inquiry
• Demonstrate foundational competence in educational research design and analysis, evidenced through an independent research project.
• Demonstrate strong ethical judgement, professional responsibility, and commitment to contributing to school communities and broader educational improvement

Scheme of Studies

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Have an Intermediate (minimum 50%) or equivalent qualification
• Hold Sindh domicile
• Women under the age of 40 can apply. 

Required Documents

Applicants must submit:

• Copies of academic transcripts and certificates
• A copy of CNIC / Juvenile Card
• A copy of the Parent / Guardian CNIC
• 2 Passport-size photographs
• A copy of the Sindh Domicile Certificate

Admissions Process

Stage 1

Submission of an online application according to the given eligibility criteria.

Stage 2

Candidates will be called for a test based on the application submitted.

Stage 3

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in an interview.

Stage 4

Selected candidates shall be called for orientation and signing of the contract on campus.

Admission Test

Applicants appear in an admission test assessing:

• Reading comprehension
• Writing ability

The test evaluates language readiness for higher education.

Career Pathways

All admitted students sign a 7-year agreement with Durbeen, in which Durbeen commits to fully subsidize a student’s 4-year degree program and, in turn, students commit to teaching for 3 years in a Durbeen-assigned government school. However, to avail this opportunity, students must graduate with a CGPA of at least 2.6 / 4.0.

These government schools will be privately managed and will provide teachers with a safe and supportive environment in which to implement all the skills they have learnt in the B.Ed. program.

If teachers pass the Sindh Teaching License exam soon after graduation and become government employees, then their remaining 3-year teaching service period can be completed in the government school where they will be posted.
